About Michelle

Miss Michelle Matriculated

Content writer, amateur novelist, editor of anything, proofreader whether you want me to or not.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, I’ve been addicted to the written word since before kindergarten. After teaching myself how to read (thanks Sesame Street!biopic) at the age of two, and starting writing fiction at the age of ten, I’ve always known that my life’s pursuit would be writing, and as my friends will tell you since I do it to them all the time, editing and proofreading. Therefore, despite the not so gentle persuasions of my family and friends who insisted that living in the Bay Area meant pursuing an engineering degree of some sort, I chose instead to major in English with an emphasis on creative writing. I graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in English, took a brief gap year, and then decided I wasn’t quite crazy enough, and so followed up with a Masters of Arts Degree in English – Writing for Publication and Performance from University of Leeds in West Yorkshire, England.

What All That Means

Since living in and returning from England, I’ve written for multiple publications, websites, and blogs, on everything from tree care, to addiction and recovery, to LGBT rights – anything you can think of. I’ve edited scripts for TV pilots, written radio dramas, plotted out comic books, and reviewed food and restaurants. I consider my day wasted if I haven’t learned something new, so researching articles is one of my favorite pastimes, and I’m always keen to share what I’ve learned with whomever I can. And if it’s a food publication, well…win win.

In a nutshell, I’m kind of all over the place. Nothing is uninteresting to write about (mostly).

For a complete list of my published works, mosey on to my portfolio, or feel free to contact me! I look forward to discussing your needs and expectations and producing content you’d be proud to use.
